Fanfic - prequel mini-series - LOST: Adversary by Kevin

Yes, I am the author of LOST:The Other Generation but you do NOT have to have read that series to follow LOST:Adversary, which is a stand-alone prequel mini-series consisting of five or six episodes (three are finished and already published). All the mythology is right in Episode One. It's the 'Across the Sea' of this series. I figured I would throw it all out there and people would know one way or another whether they'd buy into it. Like I said in the last post, I found these stories and forgot that I had them. I took the liberty of re-writing from the old ones as to make them more in tune with the original episodes. I had them with only five scenes but later realized that all regular one hour episodes where done in six scenes. So I have added new material to each episode which was fun because I was able to clear up some of the story I had left out. So here is episode two. It is called The Chosen One.

The Final Episode - 80 pages, so allot yourself 15 or 20 minutes more than normal to read it. I've taken a few bold strokes here but I think they are worth it. I am proud of the whole story.



I appreciate each and every one of you that have invested your time in reading this series, not having any 'teases' or having been sold much of any reason to do so...it was always my M.O. to let the story do the talking. It has been a two-way leap of faith, that I would actually finish and keep within the spirit of the original, and that you would still be there to read. THANK YOU.



On character deaths - I never planned character fates outside of a handful, I wanted to keep everything as completely natural to the story as possible and I believe I succeeded in doing that.



I accomplished everything I set out to do with the story. And I am amazed that it has wrapped up as nicely as it has (IMO)...you've got to leave these stories behind at some point. And that was maybe the most difficult decision of all. Where to leave it? Well, I did the most appropriate thing, IMO.



My only regret is not having more character-building but I felt a need to honor the readers and FINISH before it became too drawn out.



Lastly, I firmly believe I have paid Damon and Carlton and Co., the full respect by keeping everything within the spirit of the original and totally inspired BY and CONSISTENT with the original. Let this be my love letter to the original and may it hope to inspire SOMEONE to continue the story, for real.

LOST: The Other Generation - Episode Seventeen by Kevin

The penultimate episode. One more to go!

And I am excited to write it. The final episode might be a little longer than 60pgs, if I feel like I need it. But I won't be gratuitous. Just want to finish it properly. This one (#17) needed
to move pretty fast, but actually I think it makes it more exciting.

I think this episode is a lot of fun. Lots of things happen and we get to explore some cool territory, story-wise (IMO). Some new characters are introduced but only ONE of them is important in the grand scheme heading into the last episode. I won't say which one. The rest are simply here to tell this particular story. In other words, the only characters that matter are the characters we've been dealing with all along. Just think of it like Season 5 'Dharmaville'. The new characters are necessitated by the location...and 'time'.
Don't want to say too much more.

This Episode is intentionally confusing, again, in keeping with the spirit of the series. Adventure and mystery...Just wait and trust me.

Stuff happens! Hope it was worth the wait. I'm not going to elaborate on it, just please enjoy.

As for the final three episodes...I've decided to write them all and complete them all - at the same time - before posting.

So the next time you hear from me, the series will be complete. And I'll post Ep 16, then 17 and then the final episode 18, all consecutively (or maybe wait a day or two in between).

So...only one more 'hiatus' until the series is finished. Hopefully these last three episodes are going to be really cool. I'm not going to try and guess on the time frame but would only say that I'm not going to rush it or deliberately take my sweet time. So hopefully it won't be too long.

L:TOG- Episode Fourteen "Cosmic Significance"

Sorry for the longer gap than normal between episodes. I had some stuff come up and 'real life' interfered. :)

A little bit of history in this episode as the plot pushes forward, dealing with one last important backstory before the CRAP hits the fan. And I'm just going to tell you right now that it hits the fan in Episode 15. And I apologize for the cliffhangers in advance and that this mostly sets the table for Ep 15 but...such is keeping with the spirit of 'LOST'.

We're almost there. Four episodes left. Ep 15 will likely be up in the normal span of 10-12 days. Actually I am itching to get right on
and finish it off so hopefully it might be up sooner than that (no promises). I'd love to be able to post the last episode (Ep 18) on the anniversary of the series finale (May 23rd) but I would have to rush things to do that.

P.S.
There will be no summary offered before the conclusion of the series. I realize this means I am limiting my own audience by doing that.I am writing this series for fans like myself. Those that don't mind reading and investing. And if it becomes too much of an investment or falls out of someone's favor...then that's cool. I'm writing this for posterity anyhow. Who else is even bothering to try and tackle a continuation story in this scope? It's not easy...because it requires that kind of investment both from reader and author. Oh...and there is certainly more Island History on the way...stay tuned. :)

Episode Twelve preview:
Will be focusing the last remaining character flashbacks on the story about the fourth and
last plane. It's going to be a good one.

FYI, in case you were thinking that I was not going back there--there is also an
episode I've already written (will need to edit, etc.) that tells us
what happened on the Island between episodes eight and nine (2016-2030). I'm going to hold on to it for as long as needed but not unnecessarily.

Things are going to start moving along pretty fast in episode eleven and beyond.

Episode ten might be a little bit of a set-up episode but this is still a good (IMO)
and necessary episode. I'm proud of the way it turned out. Hope those of you still reading
this series like it as well. Thanks for your comments - it's the only way I know
people are still reading.

Just to give you an idea of what the plan is:
By the end of Episode 11 all characters will be introduced on the Island. So don't worry about having to keep track of too many people.
And by the end of Episode 12, most all of the character-flashback stuff will be done and
we will be caught up and (essentially) only moving forward in time.

In other words, the plan is that Episode 13 through 16 (or 18 if need be) will be the 'end game'.
